  • Onderrig en kurrikulumontwikkeling in voorgraadse modules van siviele ingenieurswese, insluitend die ontwikkeling van aanlyn materiaal;

  • Onderrig en kurrikulumontwikkeling op nagraadse vlak in plaveisel- en vervoeringenieurswese sowel as verwante velde, insluitend die ontwikkeling van aanlynmateriaal;
  • Doen navorsing ter ondersteuning van die SANRAL-leerstoel in plaveisel-ingenieurswese of sterk verwante velde deur verdere navorsingsareas wat toepaslik is tot die industrie te identifiseer;
  • Verskaf leierskap en leiding aan navorsers en verkry befondsing;
  • Betrokkenheid by en aktiewe bydrae tot die plaveisel-ingenieursbedryf en die ingenieursberoep, insluitend die ontwikkeling en aanbieding van kort kursusse vir praktisyns in plaveisel-ingenieurswese;
  • Verteenwoordig die Universiteit by geassosieerde industrie verenigings en in standaarde-organisasies;
  • Die bestuur en verbetering van plaveisel-ingenieurswese se bronne, insluitend materiaalkarakteriseringsmetodes en toetsapparatuur, sowel as verwante sagteware;
  • Akademiese en departementele administrasie;
  • Interaksie met die laboratorium en ook hulpverlening aan die laboratoriumbestuurder.

  • Teaching and curriculum development in undergraduate modules of civil engineering, including online material;
  • Teaching and curriculum development at postgraduate level in pavement and transportation engineering, as well as closely related fields, including developing online material;
  • Performing research in support of the SANRAL Chair in Pavement Engineering or strongly related fields by identifying further areas of research relevant to industry;
  • Providing leadership and guidance to researchers and obtaining research funding;
  • Involvement in and actively contributing to the pavement engineering industry and the engineering profession, including the development and presentation of short courses for practitioners in pavement engineering;
  • Representing the University on associated learned societies and standards organisations;
  • Managing and improving pavement engineering’s resources, including material characterisation methods and testing equipment, as well as related software;
  • Academic and departmental administration;
  • Interacting with the laboratory and providing assistance to the laboratory manager.

  • PhD in Siviele Ingenieurswese met ‘n fokus op plaveisel-ingenieurswese (of in die finale fase van indiening met die voorbehoud dat dit toegeken moet wees voordat die kandidaat in diens geneem kan word);
  • Kwalifiseer om as \'n professionele ingenieur by ECSA te registreer;
  • Ervaring van onderrig en navorsing op akademiese vlak;
  • Uitstekende skriftelike en mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede.

  • PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Pavement Engineering (or at the final phase of submission, with the proviso that the degree must be awarded before starting the position);
  • Eligible to register as a Professional Engineer with ECSA;
  • Experience of teaching and research at an academic level;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • \'n Gevestigde publikasierekord in plaveisel-, geotegniese en vervoeringenieurswese;
  • Ervaring in mentorskap en begeleiding van studente op meestersgraadvlak;
  • Betrokkenheid by tegniese aktiwiteite van die plaaslike en internasionale gemeenskap vir plaveisel-ingenieurswese;
  • Industrie ervaring in plaveisel- of geotegniese ingenieurswese;
  • Bydraes tot die ingenieursberoep, bv. standaarde ontwikkeling, publikasies, ens.;
  • Ervaring in die gebruik van moderne sagtewarepakkette vir plaveisel-ingenieurswese.

  • An established publication record in pavement, geotechnical and transportation engineering;
  • Experience in mentoring and guidance at a Master’s degree level;
  • Involvement in the technical activities of the local and international pavement engineering community;
  • Industry experience in pavement or geotechnical engineering practices;
  • Contributions to the engineering profession, e.g. standards development, publications, etc.;
  • Experience in the use of modern pavement engineering software packages.
